The Automatic Workload Repository (AWR) is often only used to when you have been notified that there is or has been a problem.

In this session, I will show how we use the AWR daily to automatically notify us that there have been some anomalous spikes in database usage that require further investigation. We will then delve deeper into AWR to help to discover the root causes of these spikes and show a real-life example of where we resolved a performance issue before it caused a major issue.
